What if a new virus made people heterosexual? This is the narrative gamble of Jim Queen, Bobbypills’ first feature-length animated film, which will be released in theaters on June 17.
Mark June 17 on your calendars, since it is on that date that the animated film Jim Queen will hit theaters, the gayest film of the year. Co-directed by Marco Nguyen and Nicolas Athané, produced by the French studio Bobbypills (with notable credits including the short formats Les Kassos and Vermin), this new feature-length film with the air of a sharp social satire sets out to scrutinize the gay milieu in all its foibles and joys. What we love most? Its synopsis as brilliant as it is wild.
Object of desire in the entire Parisian gay microcosm, Jim Parfait has always known how to use his enormous muscles to stay at the top of the food chain. But that was before the arrival of the Heterose, a surprising virus since it… makes people heterosexual. As the symptoms multiply and it will soon be too late, there is only one hope: Lucien, a young twink not yet out of the closet who sees him as a god among men. Together, they will embark on a journey across the capital to track down a scientist capable of devising a cure and, thus, of preventing the extinction of homosexuality.
