Meet the Founders of Reveeld, the LGBTQ+ Dating App Reinventing Queer Dating

December 8, 2025

They are young, gay, entrepreneurs, and above all united by a shared mission: reinventing the way queer people meet. David and Dimitri are not just a couple in the city, they are also partners in an ambitious entrepreneurial venture. After building a community of several hundred thousand people on TikTok, they managed to raise more than one million euros to bring Reveeld to life, an LGBTQ+ dating app that places safety, privacy, and the pursuit of serious romantic relationships at the heart of the experience.

In this exclusive interview, they share the backstage of creating Reveeld: how the idea was born, the limits of existing apps, the innovations they bring, and their vision for the future of queer dating.

Working as a couple while building Reveeld: a challenge or a strength?

David : We are lucky to experience it very well! For us, it’s an advantage because we are extremely complementary, even in our life as a couple: in our daily life, each has their own tasks in which they excel. So when we started working together, the division of roles happened quite naturally.

Dimitri : I think, however, that it’s not given to just any couple. We spend our days and evenings together, so we inevitably have spats and disagreements. But ultimately, the calming is mostly a question of good will.

Your couple is very active on social media via Reveeld: why did you choose to share this journey publicly?

David : Our social networks, our couple, and our app are all part of the same whole, because if we raised over one million euros, it’s mainly thanks to the TikTok community that has been following our couple for more than two years now. To convince our investors, we needed KPIs (key performance indicators), and that’s where our networks came in: polls, pre-registrations, supportive messages… Our followers have been incredibly supportive and allowed us to demonstrate to our investors the existing need and the strong demand for a platform like Reveeld.

Dimitri : So it made sense for us to continue including our community in this journey by keeping it public, even after the fundraising.

How did the idea for Reveeld, the LGBTQ+ dating app, come about?

Dimitri : It was precisely our community that sparked the idea for Reveeld in our minds. By listening to them, the same comments kept coming back:
“How did you meet?”, “I’d like to know the same thing.”, “It’s too hard to find a boyfriend!”

David : We realized there was real loneliness among queer people, that they lacked tools for dating that were healthier and conducive to loving relationships. We all know a ton of gay apps for fun, but an LGBTQ+ platform to find love is immediately much harder to name…

What limits is Reveeld aiming to surpass compared to other queer dating apps?

David : The major missing piece is the opportunity to meet for romantic and serious relationships, in favor of what is called “fun.” Under our own ads, we see many people blaming queer individuals: “too flirty,” “unable to settle down,” … In fact, we immediately tried to discourage ourselves in our project by being told that our app would flop because gay men were “not interested in seriousness.” I find such discourse reductive, stigmatizing, and above all very ignorant. If you study the online dating market, you quickly realize that the problem does not come from the community but mainly from what the big LGBTQ+ dating companies offer us. In everything they provide, you navigate the app through a grid that resembles a catalog and favors a consumerist approach. They trivialize anonymity with nearly empty profiles, whose limited fillable information reduces us to our sexual preferences. They place the closest geolocated profiles at the top of the pile because they prioritize speed over quality dating. In short, gay apps are clearly not suited to building long-term romantic connections.

You mentioned the danger of anonymity. LGBTI-phobic ambushes have been increasing in recent years, especially through dating apps. What concrete measures does Reveeld implement to protect its users and create a safe space?

Dimitri : Safety is at the heart of our concerns; it’s actually the first limitation we identify in existing apps and we are determined to solve it. That’s why we invest the most resources and means to be as innovative as possible in this area. We have created the very first online protection system on a dating app, designed to secure queer dating. It’s called SafeLock and it’s truly a game changer. For the first time, we are developing a comprehensive safety tool that sits beneath the dating app, not the other way around. We can’t reveal everything yet, we have to keep a bit of the surprise, but we do have, for example, an AI that helps us in moderation by sorting for us profiles with suspicious photos. If a doubt remains after a human check, we force a Face ID authentication on that person, who must submit a selfie if they want to continue using Reveeld. Thanks to that, we can compare the selfie to the profile photos and ensure they weren’t spoofed. That’s one example among the ten features of SafeLock.

David : But above all, the element I personally prefer about SafeLock remains the central concept of the app, the Evolutive Profile, which was designed specifically to protect our users. By separating each person’s information into three different profiles (Public Profile, Match Profile, Reveal Profile), people have the option to filter how much personal information they are comfortable sharing with others. It’s a concept that puts privacy and data protection at the forefront. Consent is also crucial in all of this: each of the three steps is voluntary because you cannot view a Match Profile if you haven’t matched with that person beforehand, just as you cannot view someone’s Reveal profile unless you reveal your own Reveal profile first. And finally, it’s especially the only LGBTQ+ safe app for people who are not out. Showing your face on a dating app is unthinkable for some people with homophobic families. But on Reveeld, you have the option to show your face only in your Match profile if you want; that way, you can be sure that no one will recognize you, except for the few trusted people you like and with whom you chose to Match!

What is the long-term vision for Reveeld and the future of queer dating?

Dimitri : Our long-term vision goes beyond the simple scope of Reveeld. What we also aim to do is influence other existing apps by offering a new standard of protection for queer people, a safety norm that our competition will soon be forced to adopt by using our SafeLock solution for their users. The safety of queer dating must become the norm and harassment, violence, and marginalization must end. The next steps for Reveeld, after the success in France, are to open to the UK, Germany, and the United States. We are currently in the process of our second seed fundraising so that all of this can materialize… 2026 should be a major acceleration for Reveeld, we can’t wait!

👉 With Reveeld, David and Dimitri are not merely launching an LGBTQ+ dating app: they carry an ambitious vision to durably transform queer relationships, by reconciling love, innovation, and safety.
