PrEP, ChemSex, and Discrimination: Gay and Bisexual Men Respond to the ‘Sex Report’ Survey

March 17, 2026

Are you a man who has male partners? Spend 20 minutes of your time to improve your sexual health and that of others.

PrEP, condoms, testing, chemsex, discrimination, stigma, violence… Men who have sex with men (MSM) have unique experiences and diverse trajectories when it comes to sexuality, prevention and care. They remain, despite the various preventive strategies implemented since the beginning of the HIV epidemic, more affected by HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

To better document access to care, attitudes toward prevention, exposure to risk, and the use of psychoactive substances among MSM, Public Health France invites all men who have sex with male partners to respond online to the 5th edition of the survey Rapport au sexe (ERAS). The responses to this study, renewed every two years since 2017, aim to adapt health policies, train professionals, and implement appropriate prevention measures.

The 2026 edition has just been launched! Answering this survey, reporting your habits, practices, needs, and any difficulties you may have, is thus participating in building knowledge and improving prevention resources and information channels.

An Anonymous Questionnaire for All Men Who Love Men

Regardless of your age, whether you are a cisgender or transgender man, and regardless of how you define your sexual orientation—gay, bi, straight…— and your life trajectory, you are eligible to participate… The only thing that matters is that you have male sexual partners.

Your anonymity is guaranteed, both in terms of your online connection and in the analysis of your responses. The questions asked in the questionnaire will in no way enable your identification.

The more respondents there are, the better! It is the best way to obtain the most complete panorama possible of the diversity of profiles, sexualities, sociabilities and preventive behaviours among men who have sex with men. Do not hesitate to share the link with those around you!

The first results will be available by the end of 2026. They will be published on the Public Health France website.
