One of the year’s most anticipated exhibitions opened its doors on March 28: the one dedicated to The Antwerp Six at MoMu, in the very center of the Belgian city. An opportunity for us to offer you a selection of the best fashion exhibitions not to miss this spring.
“The Antwerp Six” in Belgium
Six major Belgian fashion names, Dries Van Noten, Marina Yee, Ann Demeulemeester, Dirk Van Saene, Walter Van Beirendonck and Dirk Bikkembergs, studied together at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Antwerp, in the north of Belgium, in the 1980s. In 1986, the entrepreneur Geert Bruloot, who discovered their talent, sent them to parade in London where their careers began. Forty years later, Geert Bruloot acts as guest curator of the exhibition for a tribute in the city where it all started, at the Antwerp Fashion Museum, drawing on archives, runway images and couture pieces.
