Our Top Queer Moments of 2025

December 30, 2025

Resolutely queer, naturally engaged, these moments made us vibrate, smile, and cry in 2025.

  • Nicolas’ Choice: Budapest Pride

Participating in a Pride in a country where the government funds it and proclaims its intention to advance LGBTQI+ rights is already something notable. Being amidst a crowd that defied Viktor Orbán’s LGBT-phobic power, to become the largest protest against his authoritarian rule since he became prime minister, is exhilarating. On Saturday, June 28, under the muggy heat of summer, something important was affirmed: a desire for freedom, at the heart of Europe’s values.

  • TESSA’S CHOICE: lesbian tidal wave across culture

How to pick a single queer moment when the cultural landscape is suddenly flooded with lesbian works? In cinema, we move from one release to the next with La Petite Dernière, Les Enfants vont bien, Des preuves d’amour, and Love Me Tender. And what about this infinitely dyke-identified literary season? It’s no accident that Lesbien Raisonnable and scholar Alex Lachkar launched the Gouincourt Prize this year, and that the prestigious jury comprised of Virginie Despentes, Anna Mouglalis, Le Beau Vice, and Olivia Sanchez rewarded the works of Sabrina Calvo, Wendy Delorme, Nelly Slim, and Fatima Daas.
