Inter-LGBT announced that the Paris Pride march, canceled on June 27 due to a heatwave, has been postponed to October 3. The slogan of Pride 2026 remains unchanged, and its route has been adjusted.
Paris Pride 2026 will indeed take place. This summer, the heatwave forced the organizers to cancel the Pride march planned for Saturday, June 27, but Inter-LGBT, which had announced a postponement, has found a new date: Saturday, October 3. If the slogan remains unchanged — “2027: Solidarity, diversity, LGBT+ & allies” —, the march route has been adjusted, the inter-associative explains: “Facing the large number of events and demonstrations postponed to this same period, we had to shorten the initial route, despite nearly two months of negotiations carried out with determination by Inter-LGBT to preserve it. The demonstration will now connect Place d’Italie to Place de la Bastille.”
Finding a date in a September calendar packed with major events was indeed not easy. Law enforcement forces are thus particularly mobilized this September with, in addition to the rentrée festivals (Rock-en-Seine and the Fête de l’Huma), about eight Céline Dion concerts and the Pope’s visit to Paris on September 26.
€50,000 in losses
The militant calendar is also full. A Global Black Pride is planned in the capital from September 9 to 13, with a march on Saturday the 12th, followed by ExisTransInter traditionally organized in mid-October. “We didn’t want to overshadow these events by organizing Pride at the same time”, explains to Têtu, Alexandre Schon, co-president of the Inter-LGBT.

The question of funding remains. At the end of June, after a week of heatwave and while emergency services were overwhelmed, the police prefecture canceled the march two days before its departure. “This had financial consequences for the organizations”, insists Alexandre Schon. For Inter-LGBT, around €50,000 is missing from its coffers. “We will truly be able to quantify the losses once we have finished renegotiating the quotes”, the activist notes.
Several evenings are planned to raise funds: on September 6 during a drag bingo organized at La Félicita with Minima Gesté, then an event on September 18 at Merci Marsha, a queer bar in the 11th arrondissement, as well as an evening at Tango which remains to be confirmed. Already, a fundraiser has raised about €10,000 to help the associations. When the community is in trouble, the community knows how to pull together.
